St A's is currently in interregnum as Steve Langford, our interim minister, moved to Bromley Baptist at the end of January 2024. The church is waiting and praying for a new minister. Meanwhile, it's exciting to have a diverse list of people coming along to preach on Sundays, giving us a breadth of insight both into the Bible and to the wider work of Christians.

Fridays
Tea and Cake (focussed on Ukrainian visitors but all welcome) 12-2pm in the Cafe space
Church volunteers run an English Corner (ESOL practice) alongisde tea and cake from about 11.30am to 2.00pm, or later if needed. This is not a lesson but a chance to practise conversational skills, or to ask for help using a translation app if needed!
Tuesdays on Zoom at 1030am
Coffee morning from 1030-1130am - a chance just to chat and catch up.
Thursdays on Zoom at 730pm
Weekly Prayer Meeting from 730pm to about 830pm
Homegroups are running on Zoom on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings. Contact office@stasbaptist.org for details.
It Takes a City
Since April 2020 we have been fully involved with
It Takes a City, mainly supporting food provision. Through the winter, we support Crossways, the winter shelter, and during the summer months we continue to organise and deliver food parcels to those referred by ITAC or the Street Outreach team or others working with those who have experienced homelessness.
This has only been possible by partnership with many different organisations, supporting with volunteers, grants or food donations.
If you have concerns about someone sleeping rough, please contact the street outreach team via
streetlink.org.uk The message goes straight to SOT so please give as much detail about someone's location as possible and they will go and find them.

Ukrainian Refugee Support
Since April 2022, on request from a Ukrainian friend of the church, we have been hosting
English lessons and cultural adaptation sessions for Ukrainian refugees organised by the
Cambridge Russian Speaking Society in partnership with Cambridgeshire skills and free for the recipients. We've been honoured to become one of the places of refuge around the city where Ukrainians can come to meet each other, access wifi and drink (lots of) tea.
We also work closely with our neighbour church Downing Place United Reformed Church, who host
Cambridge4Ukraine. This is the main meeting to encourage all Ukrainians to attend to catch up and access support in Ukrainian.
The Ukrainian Heritage Art and Music Centre also organise workshop and events at St A's, mainly on Saturdays, and the Malva choir use our premises for rehearsing.
